Leaving Cert Maths Higher Level
Over the 3 days course the following topics will be covered.
Overview of the new exam structure, including exam tips and study tips.
Paper 1: Algebra and Calculus. Using functions and graphs, roots of
equations and the factor thearem to explore the relationship between the two topics.
Paper 2: Strand 1 of Project Maths. Probability and Statistics. Cover New topics including
binomial distribution, normal distribution, correlation and sampling.
Paper 2: Strand 2 of Project Maths. Focus on Trigonometry including Practical problems
using trigonometry and derivation and application of trig formulae.
Leaving Cert Maths
Students should bring a scientific calculator, tables, past papers and a refill pad/pen. The
course will concentrate on approaches to questions, problem solving and maximising marks
available. It will also include sample answers, how to interpret question and address the
varying marking schemes of Paper on and Paper two. Maths is a wide ranging subject with
many aspects. The topics to be covered in this revision course will attempt to cover a large
proportion of the examinable materiable.

HISTORY (H)
Courses will focus on course content and eassy writing skills necessary for 'A1' grade success in Leaving Certificate.
Course content will cover topics which have a high possibility of being on the paper in June 2010. This will enable students to maximise marks in the 'Cumulative Mark' (worth 60% of total).
Eassy writing skills will focus on eassy planning and correct use of time in the exam in order that students may achieve maximum marks in the 'Overall Evaluation' mark (worth 40% of total).
The course will cover the prescribed Documents Based Question:
European Retreat from the empire and its aftermaths 1945-1990.
